Introducing the project group

Updated: Mar 25, 2021

The rōpū represent a Tiriti o Waitangi relationship model l, with equal numbers of tangata whenua and tangata tiriti. A key aim for setting up the rōpū was to have a balance between service user and practitioner perspectives. Lay people were selected to co-chair the rōpū and the co-chairs are Sally Wenley and Dr Sharon Gemmell. They both have extensive governance, service user and education experience. The table below shows the project rōpū. Where possible LinkedIn profiles have been included. Occupational therapist representatives were part of an expression of interest process. They were selected to represent the diversity of occupational therapist practice, across organisational, cultural, geographic and sector involvements. Several Nga Whakaora Ngangahau o Aotearoa (OTNZ-WNA) council members/president(past and present) are included.
The project rōpū is also supported by some key people also listed. The first online meeting has been held and members are familiarising themselves with the material needing to be reviewed. There will be a meeting kanohi-ki te-kanohi (face-to-face) soon. We will let you know project milestones and the engagement process after that hui.
