Consultation starting this month

Whaaia te maatauranga hei oranga moo kouto Seek the learning for wellbeing

This month the roopuu will begin their consultation with key stakeholders, those who are strongly invested in the refresh of the Scope of Practice, Code of Ethics and Competencies for Registration and Continuing Practice. This will include organisations such as OTNZ-WNA, occupational therapy schools and other health and disability sector organisations.

This is just the first part of the consultation process. The second phase of consultation is expected to begin in July which is when all occupational therapists and the wider community will be able to comment on the draft documents.

On July 20, as part of this consultation, we will be holding a webinar with the co-chairs of the roopuu, Sally Wenley and Dr Sharon Gemell, to discuss the project and answer your questions.

Feedback by stakeholders will be included in final drafts which will then be forwarded to the Board for final approval and adoption. We hope to hold a further webinar in December or in the new year to discuss what the new documents will mean for you in practice.
